THE HARMONY OF MATERIALS
Obsydian specializes in the craftsmanship of semi-precious stones to create precious architectural details. Original Obsydian stones are incorporated into furnishing and design projects, creating a perfect combination with other materials and increasing their overall value. The Obsydian brand guarantees that all its materials are selected and identified through strict criteria, allowing sourcing from the purest and rarest batches in the world. The originality of Obsydian stones is given not only by the sourcing methodology of the raw material, but above all by the artisanal processing through which it is transformed into an Obsydian detail, treated with almost obsessive care and extreme richness of detail. Only the most experienced artisans can guarantee a production that meets the standards required to become a true Obsydian stone: a process handed down like a secret recipe of mastery, with dedication and passion. Hard stone inserts can be applied to doors and to vertical or horizontal surfaces of any kind. The processing method allows the stone to be applied to any rigid base, whether wood, metal or stone. Semi-precious stones can also be applied to wall surfaces, creating design geometries and elegant combinations of different materials. They can also be used as inserts on knobs, handles, taps, control panels, switches, or in the form of rods, cabochons and rounded surfaces. The ability to consistently achieve a harmonious finished product with an extremely high level of finishing represents one of the main advantages of craftsmanship.
CONCEPT
We are developing two design concepts: one carried out by our internal style and development department, and one in collaboration with the Atelier Design Lab by Joe Gentile and Fabio Crippa.
COFFEE TABLE OBSYDIAN DESIGN The coffee tables created by Obsydian’s style department are the first products in which another precious material, highly appreciated worldwide, has been chosen for integration: natural mother-of-pearl. In this case as well, the aim was to use a raw material of the highest quality, combined with refined craftsmanship that integrates perfectly with our stones.
